Path to Victory

'Authentic LEADERSHIP in Service of Minnesota's Bright Future' IPM-1st-CD

The Independence Party is Back!

One year ago...

Minnesota Public Radio declared that “the Independence Party is back.”  Honestly, we never left.  We just began to use our political power beyond candidate campaigns.  Political leaders still credit our support for the defeat of both flawed constitutional amendments.  But that was last year.  What has the Independence Party done for Minnesota lately?

In June, the Independence Party of Minnesota drew national attention for supporting the legalization, regulation and taxation of marijuana.  In November we won three out of five elections.  Due to the hard work of IP leadership and supporters in the Third and Fifth Congressional Districts, Blong Yang won his election to the Minneapolis City Council and IP Delegate Jon Oleson won his election to the Bloomington City Council.  While the IP is no stranger to election recounts, we are now no stranger to recount victories.  IP Delegate Dwayne Lowman won his election to the Bloomington City Council by two votes and maintained his victory through the recount.

In 2012 and 2013 we proved that the Independence Party can influence public opinion and that Independence Party candidates do win elections.

We have come a long way over the last three years, but we still have a long way to go to make Minnesota a better state for all of its citizens.  Next year we will make Minnesota better by achieving one singular goal.

In 2014 we will support strong Independence Party candidates for the state legislature and statewide office.

Minnesotans have elected Independence Party candidates for soil and water conservation districts, school boards, city councils, mayor’s offices, State Senate and Governor.  We have done it before and WE ARE WORKING TO DO IT AGAIN!

How will you help us achieve this difficult, but attainable, goal? Any support is welcome.  If you aren’t sure how you can help, I have included a list of specific needs in our 2014 IP wish list.

The 2014 victory party doesn’t start on election night.  The party starts when you join us on the path to victory.  Don’t wait, join now.

Chair, Independence Party of Minnesota
